FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Los Angeles, June 22, 2023 – Partner Engineering and Science, Inc. (Partner ESI) will ensure the continuation of Building Technology Roundtable (BTR), a technology forum for commercial real estate, by assuming administrative control and investing in the organization over the next decade. BTR’s founder, Rick Varnell, will continue his leadership role in cooperation with Partner ESI. BTR comprises a diverse and influential coalition of companies, organizations, and stakeholders seeking to spearhead innovation, foster collaboration, and drive sustainable growth within the commercial real estate (CRE) industry. The forum is known for relevant, actionable content that engages CRE with technology solutions. According to Varnell, a respected innovator and founder of several successful CRE tech enterprises, “There is a continued gap of value understanding and scale between technology solutions and CRE. We created BTR as a safe space for real estate and tech leaders to germinate ideas to bridge that gap and explore their execution at scale. Joining forces with Partner ESI will facilitate that effort and help us add value and deliver better service to our communities. I look forward to continuing this amazing adventure. It’s my honor to observe colleagues solving real issues and positively impacting business and lives.” As the rapidly evolving CRE landscape presents unprecedented challenges and opportunities, BTR recognizes the urgent need for collective action. By uniting the industry's brightest minds and most influential players, BTR hopes to leverage technology to transform the landscape and shape the future of commercial real estate. Their goal is to harness the power of digital transformation and push the boundaries of what is possible in the CRE space. “The intersection of CRE and technology is all about translation,” said Jason Lind, a founding member of BTR. “Bringing the two together with a clear understanding of each other's goals creates an ecosystem in which CRE owners can feel safer about the adoption of new technologies.” Partner ESI CEO Joseph Derhake, PE, is excited about the future of BTR. "BTR affords us a valuable opportunity to make an impact on commercial real estate, considering that we as a society are becoming more and more connected through IoT. This roundtable provides a forum for real conversations around key technology topics." As a platform for collaboration and knowledge exchange, BTS facilitates open dialogue and fosters partnerships to address industry-wide challenges. Under Partner ESI’s direction, the forum will host tech-centered, semi-monthly conference calls and meet in person annually. According to Derhake, “The founding members of BTR include some of the most prominent and respected names in the industry. Their commitment to excellence, forward-thinking vision, and dedication to sustainable practices make them invaluable assets to our collective mission.” For one member, Mark Zikra, Chief Technology Officer of Property Connect Advisors, BTR is more than a networking group. “The BTC Roundtable consistently stands out as a highlight of my year, enriching both my personal and professional journey. It's a gathering of forward-thinking pioneers from the realms of real estate and technology, coming together to shape our industry's future...Missing it is simply not an option for me.” BTR invites industry leaders, organizations, and stakeholders to participate in their efforts. A forum call is slated for August 2, 2023 and the first in-person meeting is slated for the fall of 2023.
